5 Years!

OK so I get this thing in the mail saying my extended warranty coverage will expire 8/31/11. There is a chance to renew it appearantly... so i was like 5 years, dang.... this thing has done somewhere between 1700-1800 loads for us.... what a BEAST!

So lately I notice that the spin cycle sounds like a jet engine, and i notice a little oil splatter marks on the floor coming from under the washer... so I call the guy out to fix it.... turn out the bearing is bad and they have to order 600 bucks worth of stuff to fix it.... so at this point i am thinking that extended warranty was the best 200 bucks i ever spent... lol... Nice to have something go out BEFORE the warranty ends for once. HA!

Long story short this Cabrio has been a work horse for us. Tons of huge loads, and it got the job done well. Very good purchase and with the new parts the guy said it will be like brand new again lol. Here's to another 5 years!

Shay goes nutz

well, after Load 29 I kind of forgot about doing loads... I was like trying to clean my den and the garage and stuff... so Shay took over and did some MASSIVE king-sized loads... well, after a full day of washing our 8 loads equalled about 24 reagular loads of clothes... Shay hung and folded it all... and let me tell you it was a TON of stuff... heheh... no totals written down but one can hardly complain about that after such a massive effort... funny thing is that these washers wash sooooo much at one time, it really does take a lot of time to fold it. lol. Shay you are the BEST!

Second weekend...

a usually weekends laundry week consists of 3-4 loads of colors, a load of whites and one load for bed sheets. Now all the colors fit into one load and the whites, sheets and towels into another load. 6-7 loads down to 2 plus less sorting. At least 2-3 hours saved a week. The ROI may take years to make up the water and energy saving but a couple of months for the time.

week one of cabrios

What a first week. The first day we ran the washer and dryer all day from 10AM until 10PM. We were able to wash things weren't able to before, like our comforter.

VegasDan's Loads....

Ok I got the cabrios. They are awesome. They totally lived up to the hype. The first load was kind of weak. We were still getting used to the washer. First load consisented of seven pairs of pants and eight polo shirts. Clothes came out clean and dried great.

Load 29

Well, this load was made up of the following: 2 twin comforters, 1 fleece blanket, 2 pillow cases, and one twin sheet. Well the washer handled it fine, but as suspected there was no way in hell the dryer could dry 2 twin comforters at once. So, it took two times through, and one wasnt completely dry still so I hung it out to finish... bummer...

Load 28

This load contained 1 baby blanket, 4 bath towels, 4 wash cloths, 5 dishrags, 3 hand towels, 2 baby pj's, 1 pair baby pants, 2 bibs, 1 napkin, 4 pair of kids socks, 3 kids shirts, and 1 pair kid shorts. Kind of a wimpy load and the Cabrios laughed at it! lol.

Load 27

This was a massive load... 5 adult shirts, 14 adult undershirts, 15 adult undie bottoms, 2 burp rags, 1 baby towel, 14 pairs of kids socks, 12 kids undies, 2 kids pj's, 2 dish towels, and 1 baby shirt... real big load... all washed and dried without incident! The Cabrios ROCK!!

By the way...

I started to label the 'washes' as 'loads'... Since i am 'loading' up the Cabrios it seemed more appropriate... lol

Load 26

This load consisted of 3 beach towels, 8 bath towels, 8 wash cloths, 3 hand towels, and 1 napkin. All washed and dried with no problems... BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lost Loads (22, 23, 24, 25)

Well my awesome wife caught the washing spirit and blasted through 4 loads!!! She didn't count up the item totals, and I am NOT going to complain about it! lol... So I am naming these 4 loads, The Lost Loads... lol...

Wash 21

For this load I put in 11 adult shirts (button ups and pull-overs), 14 pairs of socks, 11 adult t-shirts, 11 adult undie bottoms, 10 kid undies, 1 kid pj's, 1 kids t-shirt. Pretty good load here and it was all washed and dried in record time, with no problems.

Wash Twenty

OK, I put in 5 kids shirts, 3 kids pj's, 5 kids shorts, 4 kids undies, 6 adult shirts, 2 pair of socks, 1 pair of dockers, 1 pair capri pants, 1 pair kids jeans, 1 king size pillowcase, and Jacob's Darth Vader slippers (man they are worn out)... all washed and dried without problems... My Cabrios are getting bored I think...

N-N-N-N-Nineteenth Wash

2 beach towels, 10 bath towels, 4 dish towels, 3 hand towels, 1 kids shirt, 2 king size pillowcases, and a sock. Not sure how the sock snuck in there... All handled with extreme ease by the Cabrios. I should have shoved more in there to make it more interesting.

Washes 17 and 18

Well, my wife folded the clothes too fast so I lost track of these two loads. One was really big, but of course I don't want to estimate because I would not want to tarnish my spotless reputation for accuracy. You know if you hear it from me, it is 100% accurate. Not sure if Vegas is an exaggerator or not though... we will see. lol. Vegas, 11 loads and you didnt tell us what was in them! COME ON MAN!!! This is all about VOLUME!!

VegasDan's Cabrios

Well the dryer broken down. I decided now was the time to invest in the new washer/dryer. I took my own advice and purchased the cabrios. We have two young children and figure to do a lot of laundry over the years so hopefully the cabrios and their supersize will minimiz our efforts. The washer/dryer were installed around 1oAm and we keep them both going until about 9PM. Now my wife who really does the laundry says that its about 2 normal sizes loads to one cabrio load. This may change over time once we get a better feel for how much the washer can handle. We were able to do this we were never able to do before. We were able to wash our comforter. So far we are very hapy with the washer.

Vegas Dan joins the elite

Well, I have my first Cabrio convert. Vegas Dan. He bit the bullet and bought a new Cabrio washer and dryer. The funny thing was is he is the guy that told me about the Cabrio when I was looking for a new washer and dryer 2 months ago... Now, he joins the elite club of owners... Sounds like it was a real adventure buying them. His little girl dumped Orange Julius all over the place, and his baby threw up on him. Sounds like a normal day at Best Buy to me. lol... Welcome Vegas! Now start posting your washes here like me. lol.

Sixteenth Wash

Opps... this got folded and put away before I could mark it all down... DANG!! Same as others though, worked fine. Well, I got two loads waiting for folding so I should be able to get those at least...
